passionate about how well-conceived and designed products can enable people's lives.  i help create technology which is appropriate to people's needs, usable without extraordinary effort, and adaptable to the way the real people who use it work, think, and feel.  this means design based on a deep understanding of people's needs and goals, and the ability to communicate and cultivate relationships and teams of smart people.  when there are constructive interactions between people who need and who create technology, products are created which get the job done and are a pleasure to use!

music

released original music album open in 2000, have done commercial music work, am working on music for my next music project.  some small local performances also help to keep me inspired!  i strive to create music which is different, intelligent, and which evokes emotions familiar to us all.  my creative process begins with improvisation, and as a vocalist i frequently work with the voice as an instrument, using electronic processing to bend and morph the voice to create the equivalent of new instruments.

the core of my work in both information technology & music is in creating experiences.  i have a special interest in using and advancing technologies for creating music.  my goal is always to enable effective and intuitive human creative experiences (this applies equally in the arts and in business).  what is important is what people can accomplish, and when i am part of enabling that i have made a difference.
